Music Review | Padman | Amit Trivedi

Akshay Kumar brings in good stories, Amit Trivedi brings in good music. When both of them come together, it is only fair to expect an album with great meaningful lyrics that supplements the movie. So let us get started!

Music Release Date: 26th December 2017

Aaj Se Teri
Singers: Arijit Singh
Lyricist: Kausar Munir
This song is about a sanskari joru ka ghulam. It is about a coy man confessing his love. The dholak throughout the song, gave an essence of something real and not orchestrated. Arijit Singh's voice is not too overpowering to hijack the song and blends in well with the music.

The Pad Man Song
Singers: Mika Singh
Lyricist: Kausar Munir
He is not the superhero we want, but he is the superhero we need. A real life superhero minus the melodrama and antics of reel life superhero. I like the fact that the lyrics remain realistic and didn't go overboard talking about his qualities. This song has one of my pet peeves - title of the song being the only phrase in the chorus and repeated.

Hu Ba Hu
Singers: Amit Trivedi
Lyricist: Kausar Munir
This is Amit Trivedi's template feel good song sung by himself. It closely follows the formula of Shaam Shaandaar (Shaandaar) and Badra Bahaar (Queen). If you enjoy Amit Trivedi's voice, give this song a listen.

Saale Sapne
Singers: Mohit Chauhan
Lyricist: Kausar Munir
Mohit Chauhan mesmerizes with this soft rock song but *sigh*. Trust me, I do not want to make comparisons but this song follows the formula of Taake Jhanke (Queen).

Sayaani
Singers: Yashita Sharma, Jonita Gandhi, Yashika Sikka, Rani Kaur
Lyricist: Kausar Munir
This song is a sanskari explanation of how a girl transforms into a woman. The 'saayani' in the title and the chorus implies getting laid. This song goes from being shy to full-on tease mode. The four singers blended in so well that it got difficult to distinguish who's singing which part.

This album was right on track with the theme of the movie in the first two songs until Amit Trivedi took over with his album templates. Don't get me wrong, they are great songs and may have an important part in the movie. But on their own, they don't add much value to the theme of the movie. Fortunately, the album finishes off on a high. So here are my favourites from the album:
Aaj Se Teri
Sayaani

That is all I have for this album now. I hope you found it useful. If you did then stay connected with us on our social media pages. Until then, Ciao...!!
