Music Review | Judwaa 2 | Anu Malik, Sajid-Wajid, Sandeep Shirodkar, Meet Bros

Now that I have lived nostalgia with the original album of  Judwaa , I think my body is ready for this one. Two of the four songs in this album are from the original. It will be interesting to see how interesting are the original new songs and at the same time how bearable are the remixed versions of old songs. So let's get right into it! Movie Release Date: 7th September 2017 Listen to the album on: Saavn Gaana Wynk YouTube Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12 Singers: Dev Negi, Neha Kakkar Lyrics: Dev Kohli The male portion (basically entire song) feels like it is a musical cover to the original song. The background choir is awful. The electronic music piece to showcase Varun's dance skill is totally unrequired. This song doesn't have a very important line from the original - 'Govinda hai hero uska aur Madhura heroine hai. Pichali Sit Ki Do Tikate Hain Gup Chup Pyar Karenge Yaara.'  What could have made the song better was more of Neha Kakkar's singing but of

Music Mention | Judwaa (1996) | Anu Malik

What better way to reminiscence old music than just before reviewing the remake of it. It took me a long time to digest the fact that it has been 21 years since the release of this movie. I was in kindergarten back then. Throughout my school and college life we used to jam on the songs of this movie. I have watched this movie so many times that I have dialogues memorized by now. Salman Khan used to ACT back then and he was my favourite. Moreover, the Anu Malik songs we cringe to today, were chartbusters back then and have a cult following. For those who are new to Beats and Beyond or need a reminder, this is a special case of my music reviews. It is more of a music mention than a review. I liked something and I want others to be aware of it too. This is the blog version of  Music Talk series  on my  YouTube channel . Movie Release Date: 7th February 1996 Listen to the album on: Saavn Gaana Wynk YouTube Duniya Mein Aaye Singers: Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu Lyrics: D

Music Review | Simran | Sachin-Jigar

Kangana Ranaut is back with another solo movie after Queen. The reason I am comparing is because Queen had beautiful music. Hence, it is only fair if I have higher/equal expectations from this album. One other reason for this is that Queen was composed by Amit Trivedi and Simran is composed by Sachin-Jigar, both of my favourite music composers. Album Release Date: 25th August 2017 Listen to the album on: Saavn Gaana Wynk YouTube Lagdi Hai Thaai Singers: Guru Randhawa, Jonita Gandhi Lyrics: Vayu This song is on the similar lines of  London Thumakda (Queen)  but on a milder tone. It is not too much in-your-face. I like how there is a blend between Punjabi and Hindi (with Gujarati accent). Jonita Gandhi shows her versatility once again by singing in lower scales and having that Gujarati accent. Pinjra Tod Ke Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan Lyrics: Priya Saraiya As the title already suggests, this song talks about being free. A template music with a template theme for a song.

Music Review | Baadshaho | Tanishk Bagchi, Ankit Tiwari

The virality of Mere Rashke Qamar has made me even more curious for the entire album. I understand it is little late for the music review with movie already being released last Friday. So without wasting any more time, let us get started! Album Release Date: 17th August 2017 Listen to the album on: Saavn Gaana Wynk Mere Rashke Qamar Music Composer: Tanishk Bagchi Singers: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Lyrics: Manoj Muntashir This song needs no introduction. I usually try not to listen to individual songs prior to the release of entire album but I could not escape this one. This song and its other versions and millions of covers are trending all over YouTube past one month. This qawwali is originally sung by late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. This is one of those remake of song that retained its original feel. After mesmerizing the world by reviving Nusrat saheb's  Afreen Afreen  on Coke Studio, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan does it again with this song. Surprisingly,
