YouTube Discovery | Ep. 04 | Tushar Lall (The Indian Jam Project) - Indo Western Fusion

Namaste! Welcome back to another ऍपिसोड of YouTube Discovery. So what are we going to talk about aaj? So today I have decided not to write in English because in India, people don't speak इंग्लिश. We speak hinglish which is a combination of हिंदी and English.  No matter kitni bhi koshish kar le  to try and act sophisticated. We are all desi at heart and that's the language we are most comfortable with. Same goes with a lot of other stuff we do, watch and experience everyday. 1. We may love the Oreos but nothing beats Parle- जी (G maane genius) 2. We may love Taratinos and S corseses but that "tumse ना हो पायेगा" dialogue from GoW becomes our punchline whenever our friends try to act oversmart. Well, not everything in desi sounds and feels good. One of the biggest examples of such a disasters are hindi dubbed angreji  movies. Or for that matter, this post which is on the verge of going horribly wrong with my weird experimentation to create a fusion of हिंदी

Music Review | Raman Raghav 2.0 | Ram Sampath

Warning! This album is dark, sick, creepy, disgusting and not at all recommended for faint hearted. Such kind of music is not everybody's cup of tea.  Anurag Kashyap movies have always had great music - be it Dev D or Gangs of Wasseypur. Both the movies had close to dozen songs and each one different from the other one. More than the music, what I was looking forward to in this album was Varun Grover's lyrics. Alright, without further ado, let's get into it and see if you are brave enough to handle it. Listen on Saavn Listen to Raman-Raghav-2.0-2016 on Saavn (Click on the song title to play it in YouTube) Qatl-E-Aam Lyrics: Varun Grover Singers: Sona Mohapatra, Yash Divecha BOOM!! That's the explosion in my head after listening to the song. It's a dubstep track and is trippy as fuck. Even though all the music is electronic, Sona Mohapatra's voice manages to keep it real and desi. The taal before the last verse by Yash Divecha *applause* Behood

Music Review | Sultan | Vishal-Shekhar

Salman Khan returns with ummm... Vishal-Shekhar? That's something we've not seen (read: heard) before. With mindless movies, Salman Khan has also left behind mindless music directors and hence mindless songs since Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Alright, without further ado, let's see if this album stamps it's "Sultan iyat " in terms of quality music. Listen on Saavn Listen to Sultan-2016 on Saavn Listen on YouTube Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai Lyrics: Irshad Kamil Singers:  Vishal Dadlani, Shalmali Kholgade, Ishita, Badshah From the lyrics standpoint, I like how the guy is trying to woo her with every pick-up line but when nothing works - baby ko bass pasand hai. I guess music is the way to woman's heart. I am starting to find rap in every foot-tapping song monotonous now. The song could have been a lot cleaner without the rap and still retain its charm. Jag Ghoomeya Lyrics: Irshad Kamil Singer: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan First thing you notice is that this s

Music Review | Junooniyat | Meet Bros Anjjan, Jeet Gannguli, Ankit Tiwari

Do you remember Sanam Re? Probably because of the title track. Expecting the same with this one too.  I don't have very high expectations from this one but I am hoping at least one track shines out (Jeet Gannguli, pointing towards you). Alright, without further ado, let's see if this album brings out the "Junooniyat (Passion)" in its songs and make me listen in loop. Listen on Saavn Listen to Junooniyat-2016 on Saavn Listen on YouTube *upload pending by T-Series as of writing*  Nachange Saari Raat Music: Meet Bros Lyrics:  Kumaar Singers: Neeraj Shridhar, Tulsi Kumar, Meet Bros The moment this song started it screamed 'chartbuster'. No matter what the lyrics is, the beats are going to rock the dance floors for a few months at least.  The only thing I did not like about the song is the rap by Meet Bros. And then coming to the chorus - definitely seemed to have heard it somewhere. *search mode on* No credits in the vide
