Music Review | Judwaa 2 | Anu Malik, Sajid-Wajid, Sandeep Shirodkar, Meet Bros

Now that I have lived nostalgia with the original album of Judwaa, I think my body is ready for this one. Two of the four songs in this album are from the original. It will be interesting to see how interesting are the original new songs and at the same time how bearable are the remixed versions of old songs. So let's get right into it!

Movie Release Date: 7th September 2017

Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12
Singers: Dev Negi, Neha Kakkar
Lyrics: Dev Kohli
The male portion (basically entire song) feels like it is a musical cover to the original song. The background choir is awful. The electronic music piece to showcase Varun's dance skill is totally unrequired. This song doesn't have a very important line from the original - 'Govinda hai hero uska aur Madhura heroine hai. Pichali Sit Ki Do Tikate Hain Gup Chup Pyar Karenge Yaara.' What could have made the song better was more of Neha Kakkar's singing but of course, women don't have equal rights yet (pun intended. don't freak out!)

Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya
Singers: Amit Mishra
Lyrics: Danish Sabri
This song lost me when Amit Mishra sang the chorus - 'Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pareshan karein mujhe chhoriyan'. People ask for higher grades, more money, happy life from God, but not this song. Also, the chorus has similar vibes to the chorus of Tera Pallu Sarka Jaye (Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge), another Salman Khan movie.

Oonchi Hai Building 2.0
Singers: Anu Malik, Neha Kakkar
Lyrics: Dev Kohli
THANK GOD! I cannot even imagine anybody else singing this song than Anu Malik himself. Neha Kakkar is a refreshing addition to this epic song. I also liked that with changing times, dulhe raja is changed to swagger wale raja. Even then, it doesn't take away from the fact that this song is about 'booty call'.

Aa To Sahii
Singers: Meet Bros, Neha Kakkar, Roach Killa
Lyrics: Sonu Saggu
Do people still believe in numerology? Title me 'Sahi' me do 'ii' lagane se gaana sahi nahi ho jaata. This is definitely not a bad song. I can easily see myself grooving to the Punjabi pop beats of this song. This song takes me to the 2000s era of pop songs. #Nostalgia

I am not sure whether to be happy or sad that this album has just four songs. Though I totally despise remaking a cult movie, Oonchi Hai Building 2.0 and Aa Toh Sahii stopped me from clenching my fists and smashing my laptop screen. If you absolutely feel the need to listen to this album, those are the only songs you should listen to. I dearly missed 'East or West India is the Best' and 'Duniya Mein Aaye' from the original movie.

That is all I have for this album now. I hope you found this review useful. If you did then feel free to share it. Let me know you favourite song of the album in the comments below. Until then, Ciao...!!
