Rajkumar Rao has had a splendid year in terms of his movie selection. This was one of the reasons why I chose to pick this album for review. I am not sure what I should be expecting from this album but looks like a mixed bag. So hopefully we find some gems!

Jogi
Music Composer: Arko
Singers: Yasser Desai, Aakanksha Sharma

This is a template love song. It has all the elements required to make you go awww. The lyrics are very clean and sanskari. The vocals were a little bit suppressed which gave a nasal tone for Yasser Desai. I would have liked otherwise. Aakanksha Sharma has just a few lines in this song.

Main Hoon Saath Tere

Singers: Arijit Singh
Lyrics: Shakeel Azmi, Kunaal Verma
This song is a big disappointment. The entire song is monotonic. There is no variation in pitch or tempo throughout. There was no excitement in "main hoon saath tere". I would doubt someone's intention of being with me if they had such low levels of excitement while saying this.

Pallo Latke
Music Composer: Raees, Zain - Sam 
Singers: Jyotica Tangri, Yasser Desai, Fazilpuria

Man! The build up towards the chorus is amazing. Kudos to Jyotica Tangri. I enjoyed her singing. She is a contestant of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2006. Did I tell you the chorus is taken from the Asha Bhosle song Pallo Latke (Nauker - 1979). Jyotica's presence is so powerful that I did not realize this song had a rap by Fazilpuria.  I am going to play this song on loop. Jyotica's singing is infectious.

Tu Banja Gali Benaras Ki 
Music Composer: Rashid Khan
Singers: Asit Tripathy
Lyrics: Shakeel Azmi
This is an extraordinary song with ordinary voice. Asit Tripathy failed make this song his own. This song has beautiful music as well as meaningful music.

Mera Intkam Dekhegi
Music Composer: Anand Raaj Anand
Singers: Krishna Beuraa
Lyrics: Gaurav Krishna Bansal
This is a powerful dard bhara song. You can feel the pain in Krishna Beuraa's voice. Surprisingly a stark difference from his Maula Mere (Chak De! India). The chorus - "Thukra ke mera pyaar, Mera intkam dekhegi" makes me clench my fist in anger even without knowing the reason for her refusing his love. Even if the guy was wrong, I'll stand by him after listening to this song.

I had a complain that the original song did not explore Aakanksha Sharma to the fullest. This song is the answer. This the same exact song with Aakanksha singing solo. For those who don't know, Aakanksha Sharma was the winner of Amul Star Voice of India Chote Ustad. She has a sweet voice that fits perfectly with the song, just like every other female singer these days.

Same song, third singer. There is no doubt that this song is the best version of Jogi. Shafqat Amanat Ali's powerful vocals and sufiyana tone makes me wonder why do the other versions of this song even exist? I guess I will have to watch the movie to find out.

Same disappointment even with a different singer. This song just doesn't work for me.

Same song, different singer. I am not sure why Shafqat Amanat Ali was just mumbling certain portions of the song, instead of singing it openly.

Tu Banja Gali Benaras Ki ft. Asees Kaur

What changed here suddenly? Why does this song sound so beautiful compared to other versions? The complaint I had about the song being monotonic has been finally fixed in this version. The variations in vocals are mesmerizing.

Same song, music director turned singer. This version is not as impactful as the other. The high notes went nasal more times than I would have liked it.

A 11-song album has just 5 originals. It seemed as if composers were trying out different singers and couldn't decide on one. In this case, it worked in favour of the album. I enjoyed certain versions more than the original. So here are my picks for the album:

Music Review | M. S. Dhoni - The Untold Story | Amaal Mallik

Cricket is religion in India, so is Bollywood. The two have come together in the past. They come together again with a movie based on India's most loved and successful cricket captain - Mahendra Singh Dhoni. So, without further ado, let's get into it and see if this album is able to build the same love among masses. Amaal Mallik has kept the most important song of the movie surprisingly underwhelming. The song peaks on high notes just before the chorus and the chorus itself is soft spoken. Music Review | Dhanak | Tapas Relia

I understand this is a late review from my side. In my defence, I heard one of the songs two days back and it compelled me to write this review. From what I saw in the trailers I am guessing there'll be a lot of folk music and lot of innocent lyrics since the movie is about two kids.
