Music Review | Baaghi | Meet Bros, Amaal Mallik, Ankit Tiwari & Manj Musik

Ok..... So..... Ummmmm..... I don't know where to start. :-(

Anyways, so Tiger Shroff returns back with his second movie - another action movie. What expectations do I have from this album in terms of music? I'll play it safe and say very low. The two music videos he featured in these two years had no action sequences and those turned out  chartbusters. You get what I am trying to say?

My review below will be unbiased by preconceived notions about that fact that it is an action movie and will be biased towards good music. *fingers crossed*

Sab Tera
Singers: Armaan Malik, Shraddha Kapoor
Lyrics: Sanjeev Chaturvedi

Did you see that red colored font right there? Yes, she has actually sung her own song. Again!! The beauty of this song lies in the video. Without the video, it is a regular romantic melody with stereotypical lyrics added with some ordinary musical arrangements. I don't know why but the chorus gave a faint sense of Meherbaan from Bang Bang.

Let's Talk About Love
Singers: Raftaar, Neha Kakkar
Lyrics: Raftaar, Sabbir Khan

They say love is blind. They didn't say love is mute, so let's talk about love baby. That's the entire loop of the chorus. Overall this song is just Meh!! The male vocals sound suppressed which takes away the feel of the song. The only part that caught my attention was Neha Kakkar's O baby baby baby. It sounds really wrong when you read but trust me there's no double innuendo.

Cham Cham
Singers: Meet Bros, Monali Thakur
Lyrics: Kumaar

We have an unintended Navratri song in this one. The song starts off like Paree Hoon Main. The manjeera in the first few lines are overpowering the lyrics. The English verse really sets the mood of the song with a 3 second drop before the chorus. I've liked Monali Thakur's singing in classical numbers like Sawaar Loon and Moh Moh Ke Dhaage but I've never heard her sing a peppy dance number. This could have been a really good song (see how I am not using the word GREAT..) but turns out to be just a decent number.

Agar Tu Hota
Singers: Ankit Tiwari
Lyrics: Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay

OK so this is an Ankit Tiwari song. Expect it to:
1. Have high notes
2. Be a potential chartbuster
3. Have mindless lyrics (Sunn Raha Hain Na Tu, Tu Hain Ke Nahi, etc.)
4. Length of chorus > Length of other parts
With expectations being set, what is different about this song? For a change, lyrics have a good meaning to certain extent. Get this verse Girte un aansuon mein, Kuch toh tujhsa lage hai, Inn ashqon mein main na khota, Agar tu hota toh, na rote hum. Oh and did I tell you? This verse is repeated for 60% of the duration of the song. Despite the criticism I am giving, I really like this song. So far my favourite one of the album

Girl I Need You
Singers: Meet Bros, Arijit Singh, Roach Killa, Khushboo Grewal
Lyrics: Kumaar

Let me get this clear first. Who the hell puts tabla beats with english chorus? :-/
This is not exactly an Arijit Singh solo number. It starts off really well with Arijit Singh creating that romantic mood (all red and sexy.. If you know what I mean). That's what the role of Arijit Singh is in this song, to make you guys at least play the song once. Roach Killa nails it with the hindi rap. Like I said the english chorus with tabla beats bleeds my ears throughout the song. To add to the pain, 4 line english chorus is repeated twice every time for 50% of the song. Do the Math. That being said, this song really accomplished in setting that romantic mood in my head between my ears through the headphones. However, I wished they went with a hindi chorus.

I had low expectations from this album. It's an action movie, it is not supposed to have chartbusters. Some songs, though, did manage to catch my attention.

TOP 3 PICKS:
1. Girl I Need You
2. Agar Tu Hota
3. Cham Cham

Consolation: NA

That is all I have for this album. I hope you liked this review. If you do then feel free to share it. Let me know you favourite song of the album or if you have any suggestions/feedback - in the comments below. Until then, Ciao...!
