After playing Chetan Bhagat in 2 States, Arjun Kapoor returns reprising one of his other characters from one of his novels. The purpose of the rest of the team (Shraddha Kapoor, the director and the music team) of this movie is to recreate the magic of Aashiqui 2. I would like to be proven wrong by the end of this review but only time will tell. So, without further ado, let's get right into it! Album Release Date: 28th April 2017 (Click on the song title to listen to it on Saavn) Baarish Music: Tanishk Bagchi Singers: Ash King, Shashaa Tirupati Lyrics: Arafat Mehmood, Tanishk Bagchi I was curious to know about all the hype surrounding this song on social media. Turns out internet opinions should not be taken on their face value. The singing is monotonic as is with lot of other songs by Ash King. Moreover, the singing is faintly similar to  Kaabil Hoon (Kaabil) . I really liked how the lyrics of the chorus have chaining effect. Other than that it is an o...

Music Review | Wajah Tum Ho | Mithoon, Abhijit Vaghani, Meet Bros, Gourov-Roshin

When few of my readers requested me to review this album, I had no idea about the movie, music or the cast. A quick look at the trailer and the picture got clear as to why this album is popular among some folks. With a shoestring budget, I am willing to take the risk of assuming that there will be nothing spectacular in this album. However, I will get into this album with an unbiased mind as always. So without further ado, let's get into it! Listen on Saavn: Listen to Wajah-Tum-Ho-2016 on Saavn (Click on the song title to play it in YouTube) Wajah Tum Ho Music Composer: Mithoon Singer: Mithoon Featuring Altamash Faridi & Tulsi Kumar  Lyrics: Manoj Muntashir  The song starts off with really soft singing by Altamash and Tulsi with piano chords in the background. However, I felt that with such a slow and soothing song, male voice requires to be deep and forthcoming. Altamash Faridi's voice didn't manage to carry that weight. The lyrics are stereotypicall...

Music Review | Shivaay | Mithoon, Jasleen Royal

Not so much for the entire album but after watching the trailer I was definitely curious for the intro song in it. My fascination for Jasleen Royal's voice also pulled me towards reviewing this album. I apologize for publishing this a little late, I've been travelling a lot lately. So without further ado, let's chant ganpati bappa 's name start this music review of Shivaay . Listen on Saavn: Listen to Shivaay-2016 on Saavn (Click on the song title to play it in YouTube) Bolo Har Har Har Music Composer: Mithoon Singer: Mohit Chauhan, Sukhwinder Singh, Badshah, Megha Sriram Dalton, Anugrah. Lyrics: Sandeep Shrivastava The intro is the same piece we heard at the beginning of the movie trailer . I WAS actually looking forward to this song. Let's split this based on which singer has sung what part. Starting with Mohit Chauhan - his voice gave a deep echo feel of the valleys in the song. He was one of the reasons I managed to get through this entire so...

Music Review Catch Up | April-May 2016 | Nil Battey Sannata, One Night Stand, Traffic, 1920 London and Do Lafzon Ki Kahani

Over the last few months I've reviewed a lot of Bollywood music albums. However, I've missed a lot more albums that had really good music. So in my this series of posts I will catch up on those albums. Music reviews are time sensitive and hence my aim has always been to write music reviews as close to the music album release as possible. The reason being, once the movie approaches its release date, people tend to forget about music and care more about the movie. A lot of my readers asked me to review some albums which were released way back in April and hence this is my music review catch up for all the music albums released in April and May. Over a period of time, I wish to reduced the frequency of music review catch up and write a full-fledged reviews for every album released. So without further ado, let's get started! Pick of the individual albums are highlighted in RED Nil Battey Sannata Music Director: Rohan-Vinayak Listen on Saavn Listen to Nil-Battey-Sannat...

Music Review | Ki & Ka | Meet Bros, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Mithoon, Ilayaraja

After Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein  Kareena Kapoor (Khan?) returns with yet another romantic comedy (with a tinge of drama). She is maintaining the legacy of the Khans in the hindi film industry to be casted against young co-actors. On the other hand, Arjun Kapoor seems to moving towards mature content in terms of his co-actors - from Alia Bhatt in 2 States to Deepika in Finding Fanny to Sonakshi in Tevar and now Kareena. Listen to Ki--Ka-2016 on Saavn My review below will be unbiased by any of the above facts and will be biased towards good music. *fingers crossed* High Heels Singers: Meet Bros, Jaz Dhami, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Aditi Singh Sharma Lyrics: Kumaar, Yo Yo Honey Singh Genre: Loop-it Punjabi Party song that'll be played in 'big fat Punjabi weddings' The song goes like this 'High heel di nache tu badi jache' which means 'you look pretty when you dance wearing high heels'... Ahem ahem... So this song takes it's ...
