I understand this is a late review from my side. In my defence, I heard one of the songs two days back and it compelled me to write this review. From what I saw in the trailers I am guessing there'll be a lot of folk music and lot of innocent lyrics since the movie is about two kids. For those who don't know - Mikey Mccleary is a New Zealand songwriter, composer, performer, producer and director living in Mumbai, India since 2007. He is not a new face in Bollywood. He has previously given music in movies like Shaitan, Nautanki Saala, Margarita with a Straw and others. Over the last few months I've reviewed a lot of Bollywood music albums. However, I've missed a lot more albums that had really good music. So in my this series of posts I will catch up on those albums. Music reviews are time sensitive and hence my aim has always been to write music reviews as close to the music album release as possible. The reason being, once the movie approaches its release date, people tend to forget about music and care more about the movie. So last week I watched this movie after it created a lot of buzz in the film industry. The film is no doubt a realistic masterpiece. What caught my attention was its music. It's a three hour long movie but has only four songs. And those four songs are purely situational and takes the story forward Even though I understand and speak Marathi, it was difficult to interpret rural Marathi. Even with such difficulty in terms of language, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the music. This is a special case of my music reviews. It is more of a music mention than a review. Finally..!! I've been waiting for this album for a long time. Why you may ask? Because Amit Trivedi. He is one of my favorite music composers. What I really like is that it takes a couple of repeated listening to truly understand the feel of the song and its musical intricacies. Percussion and other musical instruments along with background vocals are usually played on loop in a song. An acoustic loop is just the non-electric instruments and vocals looped in the song. So now you know what I am going to talk about. This (Ctrl + V) is a vocal looping processor.  It is just an instrument to record, overdub, play, and stop  for some but for others it is their entire band.
